Researchers argue that purported ‘extraterrestrial mummies’ discovered in Peru are actually humanoid figures crafted from earthly bones

A duo of mysterious “alien mummies” discovered at Peru’s main airport in October has been debunked as Earthly in origin, according to a recent scientific analysis disclosed on Friday. During a press conference in Lima, experts identified the two diminutive specimens as humanoid dolls, likely crafted from a combination of human and animal components. Additionally, a separate three-fingered hand, initially thought to be from Peru’s Nazca region, was also examined, with specialists dismissing any link to extraterrestrial life.

Flavio Estrada, an archaeologist from Peru’s Institute for Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, clarified, “They’re not extraterrestrials. They’re dolls made from animal bones from this planet joined together with modern synthetic glue.” Estrada emphasized that the narrative surrounding these objects was entirely fabricated.

The figurines surfaced in the Lima airport offices of courier company DHL, concealed within a cardboard box, and were designed to resemble mummified bodies adorned in traditional Andean clothing. Some media outlets speculated about the possibility of an alien origin, but the recent analysis dispels such notions.

Last September, a Mexican congressional hearing showcased two diminutive mummified bodies featuring elongated heads and three-fingered hands, purportedly discovered in Peru in 2017 and believed to be around 1,000 years old. However, Mexican journalist and UFO enthusiast Jaime Maussan’s claims were widely dismissed by experts who considered the bodies to be a likely hoax involving manipulated ancient human mummies combined with animal parts.

During the Lima press conference organized by Peru’s culture ministry, experts did not establish a connection between the dolls found at the DHL office and the bodies presented in Mexico. They underscored that the remains from both incidents are terrestrial and not of extraterrestrial origin.
