Introducing Microsoft’s Latest Innovation: AI Copilot Pro, a Subscription-Based Chatbot Paving the Way for Enhanced User Experiences at $20 per Month

On Monday, Microsoft unveiled a new subscription-based iteration of its Copilot, designed to offer consumers a more robust artificial intelligence (AI) tool. Following the introduction of a free version for its Bing search engine and Microsoft Edge browser last year, the Copilot Pro subscription is now accessible for $20 per month, delivering advanced features beyond the standard Copilot.

Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Consumers, announced the release of Copilot Pro, emphasizing its capacity to elevate user experience. “Whether you seek advanced assistance with writing, coding, designing, researching, or learning, Copilot Pro enhances performance, productivity, and creativity,” remarked Mehdi.

The subscription-based Copilot Pro extends its reach to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and a preview version in English on Excel. Subscribers utilizing Microsoft 365 Personal and Family plans on PC, Mac, and iPad gain access to Copilot Pro within these applications.

Copilot Pro subscribers enjoy priority access to the latest AI models, including OpenAI’s GPT-4 Turbo. This arrangement provides improved performance during peak times and future capabilities for users to toggle between models. Additionally, Copilot Pro offers enhanced AI image generation through Image Creator from Designer, formerly known as Bing Image Creator. Subscribers benefit from 100 boosts per day, expediting image generation, and can choose a landscape image format for more detailed visuals.

A forthcoming feature, the Copilot GPT Builder, will enable Copilot Pro subscribers to construct their own customized Copilot GPT tailored to specific topics based on user prompts.

Microsoft has also introduced new features in Copilot, such as Copilot GPTs, a mobile app compatible with Android and iOS devices, and the integration of Copilot into the Microsoft 365 mobile app.
