The United States launches a missile attack on an anti-ship cruise missile site in Yemen.

US Central Command reported that American forces targeted an additional Houthi anti-ship cruise missile in Yemen during the early hours of Sunday, local time. The strike was characterized as an act of “self-defense” against a Houthi cruise missile that was “prepared to launch against ships in the Red Sea” at 4 a.m. local time on Sunday, according to a statement from US Central Command.

The decision to strike was made based on the assessment that the Houthi cruise missile posed an “imminent threat” to US Navy ships and other vessels operating in the region. This action aligns with the broader strategy of the US military to discourage the Houthi rebels from further disrupting global shipping lanes in the Red Sea.
