Soon, ChatGPT will be able to respond to WhatsApp messages.

ChatGPT hardly needs an introduction at this point. The chatbot made a huge impact late last year and continues to impress us with its ability to answer questions and pass the Turing Test. As AI technology evolves rapidly, so do ChatGPT’s features. One such feature is the ability to save your conversations for later without the need to copy and paste them elsewhere.

If you primarily use ChatGPT on your computer, you may have already noticed this change. On desktop, ChatGPT has added a new sidebar that displays all of your saved conversations. However, you don’t need to use ChatGPT on your computer to access your previous chats. If you use the web app on your smartphone, you can find the new sidebar by tapping the hamburger menu in the top-left corner of the screen.

ChatGPT automatically assigns a title to each chat based on the first question asked. During the conversation, the title remains as “New chat” until ChatGPT finishes answering the question. Once the response is provided, ChatGPT updates the title to accurately reflect the topic discussed. For example, if you ask about math concepts for coding, the chat will be titled “Math for Coding” after ChatGPT responds.

If you prefer a different title for the chat, you can easily rename it. Simply select the chat and tap the pencil icon to enter a new name, then click the checkmark to save it.

Although ChatGPT saves chats, they are not backed up in a traditional sense. Therefore, if you have an interesting conversation that you wish to preserve or share, it’s a good idea to copy and paste it into a note on your phone or computer.
